CITDAS Version 3.00 Has Arrived
First previewed at the Respiratory Drug Delivery (RDD) VII Conference in May 2000, CITDAS has now become an industry standard for the analysis and reporting of aerodynamic particle size distribution data from metered-dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers and nebulizers, by cascade impaction, in accordance with the specifications as laid down in the USP and EP.
If you are already a user of the fully validated software, you will already be familiar with the benefits that it provides for routine R&D and QC analysis with the Next Generation Impactor (NGI), Andersen Cascade Impactor (ACI), Marple-Miller Impactor (MMI) and Multi-Stage Liquid Impinger (MSLI). We have listened to your comments and feedback with regard to previous versions of the software (V2.00 and previous) and as a result we have now incorporated the following new features into V3.00:
- Ability to import CSV files for automated data entry (e.g. from HPLC)
- Raw input data added to tabular printouts for input/output data cross-checking
- Data input/output resolution (decimal places reported) can be varied for 7 different parameters
- Up to 5 stage groupings (by stage or particle size) can be accommodated, with additional printout
- Mean, SD and %RSD data generated for up to 12 runs with additional printout for mean run
- Addition of NGI archival calibration data at 15 L/min, with automatic cut-off diameter equation selection for any flow rate between 15 and 100 L/min (previously 30 to 100 L/min)
- USP and Ph.Eur. impactor mass balance requirements expanded to include FDA requirements
- Limit of Detection (LOD) introduced to ensure data integrity for unusually narrow particle size distributions (Dalvi, M., DDL 17, 2006, p. 134 - 137)
- Precision of calculations improved to allow for stage groupings
- Full validation package and risk assessment of upgrading from V2.00 to V3.00 included
- Cosmetic and user interface improvements
